CENTER FOR MIND AWARENESS FOUNDATION

Our Story

How do you feel? The rarely asked question in our society, which goes deeper than the usual questions, is the reason Mind Awareness Foundation is here. Having never been asked that question and many like me, we started this non-profit organization where our focus is mental well-being and everything associated with it.

This question not only breaks down the walls of the one being asked but also puts the inquirer in a vulnerable position which brings about a true deep transformative conversation.

Imagine a world where people actually ask how do you feel!? how low the suicide rates would drop, how less suffering, depression and loneliness would be felt. Talking has been known to unburden the heart and it starts from me and you asking that question.

Appeal to you

Ask yourself that question,

Ask someone else that question, and the results will speak for themselves. Thank you.

Join us in our mission to promote mental wellness and support for those in need

Our Projects

One of our many projects is in schools, where we hold Mental health workshops. These workshops equip children of all ages with tailored mental health interventions to meet their needs, building emotional stability and awareness. We believe that Education is complete when it is both inner and outer.

We Should have free Mental health Education.

We strive to break the stereotypical ideologies about Mental health at the grassroots, hence the emphasis on children and youth outreaches. In some cultures in Uganda, the dead suicide victims are beaten for the onlookers to see and not to attempt the same; there seems to be an underlying belief that the victim ought to be punished even before burial.

There is also an association of mental illness with witchcraft, which has left many victims paralyzed in seeking professional help or guidance. We hope to address and change these and other toxic cultural beliefs that no longer serve our society.

We believe that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment to grow and thrive. However, many innocent children in our schools are suffering in silence as victims of domestic violence and abuse at the hands of those in authority.

The Alarming Reality is 1 in 5 children experience physical or emotional abuse at home- 60% of children witness domestic violence, leading to long-term mental health consequences. Many children are unaware of their rights, making them vulnerable to exploitation. We are committed to ending this cycle of violence, one school at a time.

Through our workshops and programs, we empower children to recognize signs of domestic violence and abuse, to understand their rights and boundaries, to develop healthy relationships and communication skills, and to build resilience and coping mechanisms

Our Holistic Approach addresses both the mental and physical aspects of well-being, recognizing that discipline should never entail physical harm. Our workshops create a safe space for children to share their experiences, ask questions, and seek help.

Join the Movement for together, we can create a culture of awareness, support, and protection. Donate, volunteer, or spread the word to help us reach more schools and children. Let’s Break the Silence. No child deserves to suffer in silence. Let’s work together to create a brighter, safer future for all.

Find hope and healing during dark times

A sensitive but yet prevalent issue we are currently addressing is Religious Trauma. As a nonprofit organisation, we aren’t affiliated with any organised religion and are therefore welcoming of all, regardless of religious beliefs. We don’t oppose any religious sect, nor do we convert or persuade victims towards any religious sect; we simply bring the voice of reason in the midst of whatever is hindering your mental well-being.

One of the many services we offer is Pre-Death Counseling. Knowing that your death is imminent can be both a privilege and a scare at the same time. Our team is here to ease the transition and also help the Bereaved make peace with the loss.

Our Safety Buddy Program

(Protect. Support. Empower)

The Safety Buddy Program is a youth-friendly support initiative created to ensure that no one feels alone during life’s most challenging moments.
Our Safety Buddies are trained volunteers who provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to talk. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, confused, or simply unheard — you can reach out.
How It Works
Reach Out:
Call or message when you need someone to talk to.
We Listen: A trained Safety Buddy responds with empathy and respect.
Check-Ins: We offer follow-up calls or messages so you don’t feel forgotten.
Practical Support: Where possible, we provide guidance, connect you to trusted services, or assist using available organizational resources.
Who Can Reach Out?
Students navigating school or campus pressures
Young professionals facing stress or uncertainty
Anyone feeling isolated, overwhelmed, or without support
Our Impact
Reducing isolation among young people
Encouraging early help-seeking
Creating a culture where asking for help is a strength
When it feels like there is nowhere left to turn, let a Safety Buddy be the one you turn to.
Because no one should have to carry life alone.

Sustainability Programs & Campaigns

Live Gently

Live Gently is a sustainability campaign rooted in mindful living.
We believe that making the world more livable begins at home in the small, intentional choices we make every day.
When we nurture plants, we nurture patience.
When we protect nature, we protect our future.
When we create green spaces around us, we create calmer minds within us.
This campaign encourages individuals, families, and communities to:
Keep plants in their homes and workspaces
Create small green corners — balconies, windowsills, compounds
Reduce waste and consume consciously
Teach children to value and respect nature
Live in harmony not only with fellow human beings, but with the natural world
A liveable world is not built by policies alone.
It is built by people who choose awareness over convenience, care over neglect, and harmony over exploitation.
Nature is not separate from us.
It regulates our air.
It grounds our emotions.
It restores our nervous systems.
To care for the earth is to care for ourselves.
Let us grow homes that breathe.
Communities that respect life.
And a world that feels safe, green, and alive for generations to come.
🌿 Plant something. Protect something. Live gently.

What You Throw Away Comes Back to You.”

As part of our commitment to Mental Wellness and Conscious Living, we run the “What We Throw Away Comes Back to Us” campaign to raise awareness about littering and poor waste disposal in our communities.
Many everyday actions—such as throwing plastic bottles, food containers, and other rubbish onto streets or into drainage channels—contribute to blocked drainage, flooding, and environmental pollution that affects everyone.
Through this campaign, the foundation promotes conscious responsibility for our shared environment by:
>Sharing awareness posters and visual messages that highlight the consequences of littering
>Engaging communities, schools, and youth in conversations about responsible waste disposal
>Encouraging simple habits such as “Think Before You Throw” and carrying waste until a proper bin is found
>Supporting small community clean-up initiatives and environmental responsibility activities
By helping people understand the connection between our actions, our environment, and community well-being, the campaign encourages practical steps toward cleaner streets, healthier neighborhoods, and more conscious living.

‘They Are Not Yours to Break’ Campaign

“They are not yours to break.” is a deeply reflective campaign that calls for a shift in how we see, treat, and raise children.
At its core, the campaign challenges the silent normalization of child abuse in its many forms—physical, emotional, psychological, and systemic. It brings to light the often-overlooked realities where children are controlled, silenced, pressured, or molded to fulfill expectations that were never truly theirs.
This initiative reminds us that children are not extensions of adult identity, unhealed trauma, or unfulfilled dreams. They are individuals with their own paths, voices, and inner worlds—deserving of respect, understanding, and protection.
Through emotionally driven visuals, storytelling, and community engagement, the campaign gently but powerfully exposes:
The harm hidden behind “discipline”
The weight of unrealistic expectations placed on young minds
The impact of domestic and school-based environments rooted in fear rather than care
The cycle of unhealed trauma passed from one generation to the next
Rather than condemning, the campaign invites reflection.
It asks parents, caregivers, educators, and communities to pause and consider: Are we guiding children… or shaping them through control and fear?
“They Are Not Yours to Break” advocates for conscious parenting, compassionate education, and safe environments where children are allowed to grow into who they truly are—not who they are forced to be.
Because the way we treat children does not end in childhood—
it becomes the foundation of who they become.
Our Call
To protect, not control.
To guide, not impose.
To nurture, not project.
Protect their innocence. Respect their humanity.

Noise Awareness & Peaceful Coexistence Campaign

The Noise Awareness & Peaceful Coexistence Campaign by the Center for Mind Awareness Foundation is an initiative dedicated to promoting mindful living within our shared communities.
In everyday life, we live side by side—each person with different needs, routines, and circumstances. While some moments call for expression, celebration, or gathering, others call for rest, quiet, healing, or focus. When these needs are not balanced, it can create tension and silent distress within communities.
This campaign encourages a simple but powerful shift in awareness:
To consider not only what we do—but how it affects others around us.
Through thoughtful messaging and community engagement, we aim to foster a culture where individuals and groups become more mindful of the spaces they share. It is not about limiting expression, but about creating balance—where people can live, work, rest, and recover without unnecessary disruption.
We recognize that communities thrive when there is mutual respect, understanding, and consideration.

By encouraging awareness around sound and shared environments, this campaign seeks to nurture peaceful coexistence and a greater sense of collective responsibility.
At its core, this initiative reminds us that:
We share a community. Let’s make it peaceful.

Use Your Power Well Campaign

Power exists in every space—within individuals, in leadership, in institutions, and in everyday interactions. It shapes decisions, influences lives, and quietly determines the kind of society we create.
The Use Your Power Well Campaign by the Center for Mind Awareness Foundation is an invitation to reflect on how that power is being used.
Too often, power is exercised without awareness of its impact. Decisions are made, actions are taken, and lives are affected—sometimes without intention, sometimes without reflection. Yet every position of influence, no matter how small, carries the ability to either burden or uplift others.
This campaign does not accuse—it asks.
It asks individuals, leaders, and communities to pause and consider:
How has my presence affected the lives of others?
Have I used my position to create ease or difficulty?
What kind of environment have I contributed to?
When I step away from this role, what will remain behind me?
Through this awareness, we encourage a shift from unconscious use of power to intentional, responsible, and compassionate action.
Because power is not only seen in authority—it is expressed in everyday choices, in how we treat people, and in the environments we create.
This initiative reminds us that while power can shape systems,
it is ultimately defined by its impact on people.
Power can influence lives. Use it to improve them.
Leave people better than you found them.

How You Treat People Matters Campaign

Every day, in ways both small and unseen, we leave an emotional impact on the people around us.
A word spoken in frustration, a careless tone, or a moment of disregard can stay with someone far longer than we intend. In the same way, a kind gesture, a gentle response, or simply being present can bring comfort that lasts beyond the moment.
The How You Treat People Matters Campaign by the Center for Mind Awareness Foundation is a call to become more aware of the emotional footprints we leave through our everyday interactions.
In our homes, workplaces, and communities, people carry experiences we may never fully see. Some are struggling quietly, some are healing, and some are simply trying to get through the day. In these shared spaces, how we treat one another matters more than we often realize.
This campaign invites us to pause and reflect:
What do people feel after interacting with me?
Do my words create comfort or harm?
Am I leaving people lighter—or heavier?
Because while moments may pass,
the feelings we create often remain.
Through awareness and intentional action, we aim to cultivate a culture of kindness, respect, and emotional responsibility—where people feel seen, valued, and safe in everyday interactions.
At its heart, this initiative reminds us:
Every interaction is an opportunity to leave someone better.
People remember how you made them feel.

Who are you supporting ?!

“Every Purchase is a vote. Choose Wisely”

Who Are You Supporting? is a public awareness campaign by the Center for Mind Awareness Foundation that invites individuals to become more conscious of their everyday purchasing decisions.
In a world where buying has become automatic, we rarely pause to consider the people, values, and realities behind the brands we support. This campaign challenges that unconscious habit by asking a simple but powerful question: Who is the person behind the brand?
Every purchase is more than a transaction—it is a form of support. It supports how workers are treated, how businesses operate, and the kind of world we are collectively building. Through this campaign, we encourage individuals to look beyond products and begin to see the human stories behind them.
By choosing to support businesses that act with integrity, fairness, and care, we not only promote ethical practices but also contribute to a more compassionate and mentally healthy society.
At its core, this campaign is about conscious living—making intentional choices that reflect our values, our awareness, and our responsibility to one another.

‘Listen Before It’s Too Late’ Campaign

“Listen Before It’s Too Late” is a mental wellness awareness campaign that calls for a more compassionate and attentive society—one that learns to recognize and respond to silent emotional struggles before they reach a breaking point.
In many communities, emotional pain is often misunderstood, ignored, or explained through fear, stigma, or cultural assumptions. As a result, individuals experiencing deep distress are left unheard, unsupported, and alone.
This campaign seeks to gently shift that reality.
Through powerful, reflective visuals and storytelling, the initiative highlights the quiet battles many people face—battles that are not always visible, but deeply felt. It encourages individuals, families, educators, and communities to move beyond judgment and begin to notice, listen, and respond with care.
Rather than focusing on the act, the campaign focuses on the human experience behind it—the silence, the isolation, and the unmet need to be understood.
“Listen Before It’s Too Late” promotes:
Awareness of hidden emotional struggles
Compassionate listening and presence
Early support and community care
Safe, non-judgmental conversations around mental wellbeing
It also gently challenges harmful responses such as shame, punishment, or dismissal, and instead advocates for understanding as a first response.
Because sometimes, what a person needs most is not advice or correction—
but simply someone who is willing to listen.
Our Call
Pause. Notice. Listen.
Your presence could make the difference.

The Invisible Need – Campaign

In many societies, care is often measured by what can be seen—food on the table, a roof overhead, education provided, and responsibilities fulfilled.
But beyond these visible provisions lies something deeper.
A need that is rarely spoken about, yet silently shapes how we experience life.
You can be surrounded by people and still feel alone.
You can have everything and still feel unseen.
The Invisible Need is a campaign by the Center for Mind Awareness Foundation that brings attention to the psychological and emotional needs that are often overlooked in everyday life.
It gently invites individuals, families, and communities to reflect on a simple but powerful truth:
Not all needs are visible.
Through quiet, thought-provoking visuals and storytelling, this campaign encourages a shift in how we understand care—not just as provision, but as presence, awareness, and emotional connection.
Because no matter where we are or what we have,
the mind always takes center stage.

The Living Wisdom Legacy Project

– Preserving the lessons ,reflections and Wisdom of elders for generations to come.

A Program of the Consciousness and Impact Library

The Living Wisdom Legacy Project preserves the life stories, lessons, and wisdom of elders within our communities.

Through storytelling, guided interviews, and assisted autobiographies, the Center for Mind Awareness Foundation Limited helps document the experiences of ordinary lives whose wisdom might otherwise be lost.

These stories become part of the Consciousness and Impact Library, ensuring that future generations inherit not only history but guidance, perspective, and the enduring wisdom of those who came before them.

Because not every inheritance is financial. Some inherit wisdom.

How It Works

The Living Wisdom Legacy Project invites elders to share their life stories, reflections, and lessons through writing, recorded conversations, or guided interviews.

For those who may not be comfortable writing, trained volunteers and community members help document their stories through storytelling sessions and assisted autobiographies.

These narratives are then preserved in the Consciousness and Impact Library, creating a growing archive of lived wisdom that can inspire, educate, and guide future generations.

End-of-Life Awareness & Support Program

There comes a moment in life that many fear, avoid, or struggle to understand—the moment of letting go.For those nearing the end of life, it can be filled with uncertainty, quiet questions, and unspoken emotions. For those who love them, it can feel overwhelming, confusing, and deeply painful.

The End-of-Life Awareness & Support Program by the Center for Mind Awareness Foundation exists to gently hold space in these moments. We sit with individuals as they approach the end of life—not to change what is happening, but to bring calm where there is fear, understanding where there is confusion, and peace where there is resistance.

Through presence, conversation, and awareness, we help individuals feel less alone and more at ease with their transition. At the same time, we support families and loved ones—guiding them on how to be present, how to connect meaningfully, and how to navigate grief without losing themselves in it.Because often, what people need most…is not answers, but presence.

This program is a gentle reminder that death is not something to be faced with fear, but something that can be approached with awareness, dignity, and even peace. And perhaps more importantly, it is an invitation to live more consciously now; To speak what matters, To feel what is real, To live in a way that leaves less regret and more peace.

At its heart, this work is simple: To ensure that no one feels alone—not in living, and not in leaving.

Conscious living. Peaceful ending.

At Center for Mind Awareness Foundation, we promote mental wellness and conscious living across all aspects of life — from the spaces we live in, to the way we relate with others, work, learn, and understand ourselves.
Through our programs, initiatives, and campaigns, we bring awareness into everyday experiences — helping individuals and communities become more intentional, balanced, and mindful in how they live.
Each area of our work reflects a key aspect of life, ensuring that consciousness is not isolated, but integrated into how people think, act, and engage with the world around them.
Because when awareness is brought into every aspect of life,
mental wellness becomes a natural way of living.

We are not just addressing mental health —
we are shaping a more conscious way of living.
